Saffron Stewed Apples
My take on ayurvedic stewed apples.

- 1 tablespoon ghee substitute with coconut oil if you are vegan
- 1/2 tablespoon golden raisins skip if you dislike raisins
- 2 cloves
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
Warm up the ghee on very low heat in a sauce pan. Don't use high heat as it will burn quickly.
Add cloves and saffron to ghee and let it simmer in the ghee for a few seconds to extract the flavor
Add in golden raisins into the ghee
Add in apples and stir quickly
Add in cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice and stir quickly
Add in water
Cook on low heat , while occasionally stirring, until the apples soften
